Poster Comparison:
Shall We Have Enough to Eat Next Winter? (WWI)
with
“We'll have lots to eat this winter, won't we Mother?” (WWII)

In WWI, posters about canning emphasized war, allies, duty, thrift, and famine. In contrast, WWII canning posters created by the Ad Council depicted the smiling faces and carefree homemakers commonly depicted in commercial advertising.
